The last post answered the question whether these products do work and how much active whitening ingredients are actually in toothpastes on the shelves. Now lets get down and dirty with some more facts before you decide to pay that extra buck for the said product.
The first would be that Whitening does not get covered by dental insurance, yes it isnt covered so dont go running with the receipts to your insurance agent and start throwing around lawsuits. They do not work on dentures and tooth that have been worked on or restored with fillings and crowns for they would probably be made of ceramic which has a hard shell making it impervious to the bleach and the coloring agent in them is mixed in with the ceramic itself before it is baked in a kiln and it becomes a ceramic. They can cause more problems that you started with if you are not careful and the list doesnt end there.
So what are my options then? Go to your dentist and let him/her decide whether you are; first safe to use these products or would it be better if they do it for you in their offices which would surely produce better results than doing it at home with a product youve never heard of and bought off the shelves of the local pharmacy.
